Beowulf Bushcraft
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 May 2025
Introduction
Beowulf Bushcraft (Helen & Mike Craddock) ("we", "us", "our") runs hands-on bushcraft sessions at Greyfield Woodlands, High Littleton, Somerset. We take the privacy and safeguarding of the families who come to us seriously — this policy sets out what we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
If anything in this policy is unclear, or you'd like us to remove or correct information we hold about you, please get in touch using the details at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
When you book a session or get in touch, we collect: your name, contact details (email and/or phone), the names and ages of any children attending, and the contents of your message or booking notes.
For Family Bushcraft and Tweens Bushcraft sessions, attendee names and ages are recorded for every session. This is a safeguarding requirement — we need to know who is in the woods with us.
Payments for sessions (when our online booking goes live) are processed by GoCardless. We do not see, store, or process your bank or card details ourselves.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us only to run our sessions and stay in touch about your booking. That means: confirming your place, sending joining instructions, contacting you if a session has to be moved, and responding to your enquiries.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. We do not pass attendee records to anyone outside Beowulf Bushcraft except where we are legally required to (for example, in a safeguarding referral).
Photography policy
We have a strict policy: we do not photograph other people's children. Any photos we share — on this site, on Instagram, or on Facebook — show the work, the woodland, the kit, and the activities. Not faces.
If we ever want to use a photograph that includes a child's face for marketing, we ask the parent or guardian for specific written permission first. You can withdraw that permission at any time.
How long we keep your information
Attendee records (names and ages) are kept for legitimate safeguarding purposes only, and for the period reasonably necessary to fulfil that purpose. Enquiry messages are kept for as long as we need them to respond and follow up.
You can ask us to delete your records at any time, except where we are legally required to retain them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct it if it's wrong; ask us to delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@beowulfbushcraft.co.uk. We aim to respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
